Dr. Dixon completed her B.A. and M.A. degrees at the University of Pennsylvania and Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies at Brown University.
Dr. Dixon's field of expertise is in Afro-Hispanic literature. Her research interests include the literature of the Spanish-speaking Caribbean as well as that of Brazil. She regularly teaches advanced undergraduate courses, including the capstone courses. A recipient of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Achievement Award and WVFLTA's 2005 Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award, she is a WGST associate and currently serves on the WVCIP Board of Directors.
